Paul Casey.

Yeah, it like that – Westwoods injury is niggling at the back of my brain and I just can’t justify putting a big bet on him, and then see him possibly not playing well due to the injury which will be exasperated by the wet/windy weather Im sure.

So its all about Casey. I dont think Im even going to back Villegas now either, due to his recent lapse in form. Casey however, has a point to prove: since his injury last year he has slipped outside the rankings of Westwood, Poulter and wait for it, even Donald! He surely must feel he needs to bring his A-game this weekend.

55/1 is a massive price for such a talented golfer. With each way 7 places? Aiit. And yes, I can change my mind very quickly! Will keep an eye on Westwood for the final major later in the year in the USA.

British Open Week… Westwood all the way!

This time last year, I posted a blog about backing Luke Donald in the Open, and what happens? He comes 5th, earning me a nice little each way profit at over 100/1 which I backed him pre-tourny at.

This year its all about one player: Lee Westwood. I have been a fan of his for a while, then I lost faith in him last year, after he let me down once or twice when I had some large wagers on him. However he has regained his form and is no doubt, in my opinion, simply the best golf player in the world right now. Plus he owes me big time for all the times hes played badly when I backed him previously, and he had better win this weekend!!!

His form has been unparalleled so far this season, with a string of top ten finishes and he looks to me like the best putter I have seen – and I know a lot about putting and eye dominance, I did edit a book on it! He has a slight injury on his ankle coming into this tournament, but he has downplayed it and came out and said that if he plays bad, it wont be down to the injury. Thats good enough for me. He is the only player I can think of who has the talent, ability, and (newly gained) confidence to win the Open this week. And he is definitely the most deserving, and will hopefully finally break his major duck at the home of golf in St. Andrews.

He is currently 20/1 with Paddy Power and they are paying each way 1/4 odds on 7 places. He had previously been as low as 12/1, but I think the bookies are completely over-reacting to his ‘injury’. It is still probably the bet of the year for me, as small injury or not, he has the class to take it. Will be putting a small each way bet on Paul Casey and Camillo Villegas also, two top players who should go well also.

Gmail Stealth tips: editing gmail chat contacts!

Since as I’m the self styled master of Gmail Stealth Mode, I thought I would post the simplest way of editing a contact in gmail.

Sometimes, we all know somehow a contact has gotten into your gmail chat, and you don’t want them to appear online in your chat list for whatever reason, i.e. you don’t want them to see when you are online or you just plain don’t like them! Rather than going down the “stealth” route, you can simply edit them from your gmail chat contacts:

Gmail stealth

First thing to do is go into settings, and deselect ‘Auto-add suggested contacts’. Therefore people you email will no longer be  automatically added to your chat list.

You can edit (remove) people from appearing online in your chat list by going into contacts, select the one you want to delete, then beside ‘Show in chat list’, select the option you want (i.e. never), then return to your inbox and that contact should be removed from chat!

Headphones

So, I broke my Sennheiser HD’s and I’m currently deciding whether to purchase Dr Dre’s ‘Beats’ headphones (Monster Beats Studio Headphones by Dr. Dre) or Ultrasone DJ1 Pro’s as used by Claude Vonstroke.

Ultrasone DJ1's - I'm leaning towards getting these

Ultrasone DJ1's - I'm leaning towards getting these

They are both quite pricey, but the cost doesn’t bother me, I’m interested in quality and Sennheiser just don’t do that for me anymore, even though obviously most people think they are the best, as I did until recently, but I think that was the case maybe 3 years ago. Right now, the two products I’m deciding between are most definitely the best headphones out there – in terms of quality, build and ultimately, comfort!

So… I think I will have another think about it! Was in Blanch shopping center today, picked up the Dr. Dre Beats – €320 – but decided on having another few days before I go out and buy them. Like everything, I absolutely suck at making decisions when it comes to having more than one possible option!
